That’s sort of what happens when you sign up for a medical cost sharing plan. Lauren Gajdek, with Christian Healthcare Ministries, is here to talk about that. It’s not really a miracle, but it sure feels like one!
<ul><li>Lauren Gajdek is Vice President of Communications and Media at Christian Healthcare Ministries. The mission of Christian Healthcare Ministries is to glorify God, to show Christian love, and to experience God’s presence as Christians share each other’s medical bills. CHM’s role is to make Christians aware of the needs of others. Based on New Testament examples, fellow believers then step in to help them using a definable, accountable, and dependable framework.</li><li>Members pay a monthly financial gift to contribute to the ongoing medical needs of others. Members of CHM do not have a contract. Instead, members follow the model of the Church, the Body of Christ.</li><li>We, as a Christian family, recognize there’s a need. We have a common focus on the need, a personal desire to assist with that need, and a common commitment to voluntarily assist one another with that need.</li><li>It’s a biblical model that follows the mandate in Galatians 6:2 to “Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.” So how can folks be assured that this type of program works? </li><li>CHM has a long track record of helping Christians – since 1981. And although it’s not insurance and there’s no contract, CHM shared nearly $500 million in members’ medical bills in the last year alone.</li><li>CHM is a Better Business Bureau Accredited Charity. It undergoes an annual, independent audit.
