Women are carrying more financial responsibility than ever before
Faithful Steward Issue 7
Women are carrying more financial responsibility than ever before, making the majority of everyday decisions that shape their families and communities. In fact, more than two-thirds of women (69%) say they are their household’s primary decision maker for investment choices. With this influence comes a remarkable invitation: to steward well, to plan wisely, and to give generously in ways that reflect God’s heart.
Why are women so well-placed to respond to this invitation? In my experience, it’s because we want our giving to reflect what we value and what we hope to impart to our families: stewardship, compassion, and the kind of lifelong faithfulness that truly makes a difference. For example, teaching children to notice others’ needs, prompting friends to gather around a mission, or helping family members discover the joy of shared purpose. Generosity becomes a holy kind of convening and an invitation to participate together in the work God is doing.
With this influence comes a remarkable invitation: to steward well, to plan wisely, and to give generously in ways that reflect God's heart.
That’s why a donor-advised fund (DAF) can be such a useful tool for any woman on her journey of generosity. A DAF is a charitable giving account that allows you to contribute, receive a tax deduction, and recommend grants to qualified charities and causes you are passionate about. It’s like a flexible account for generosity with more benefits. It can simplify your giving by providing one place for contributions, grant recommendations, and annual records, while also allowing your charitable dollars to grow as you prayerfully discern where to deploy them.
For women who want their generosity to be both strategic and relational, a DAF can also create a shared space for family and friends to pray, plan, and celebrate what God provides through faithful stewardship. If you’re looking to take a simple next step, talk with your financial advisor about whether a donor-advised fund could help you give with more clarity, more intentionality, and more joy.
